IMBC Spinnova
About Us
IMBC Spinnova is a specific fund for financing spin-offs, spin-outs, and high-tech companies, created in partnership with UMons and Wallonie Entreprendre (formerly SRIW).
IMBC Spinnova’s activity has been particularly strong in recent years, benefiting companies operating in a wide range of high-tech sectors and with diverse academic backgrounds.
Among the spin-offs supported are D-TEK, a biotech company specializing in the design, manufacture, and sale of diagnostic kits for autoimmune diseases, and Hovertone, which designs interactive video mapping.
IMBC Spinnova is also a shareholder in DECISIOS, a young Eonix spin-out that has developed an innovative platform to support nursing staff and accompany each patient from the moment they are admitted to hospital until they are discharged.
When it comes to companies at the forefront of innovation, IMBC Spinnova is a proud partner of:
- TELIX, an Australian radiopharmaceutical company focused on the development of diagnostic and therapeutic products using Molecularly Targeted Radiation (MTR) to treat cancer,
- Fyteko, active in the field of 100% bio-based biostimulants and herbicide bioenhancers to protect crops,
- Sunrise, a company at the forefront of developing a revolutionary medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea.
Its financial resources have been steadily increased to support and develop its investment strategy. Today, these total over €45,000,000.
In addition to its direct investments in innovative companies from a wide range of high-tech sectors and with diverse academic backgrounds, IMBC Spinnova works with industrial, academic, and financial shareholders in specialized investment funds, often from their date of creation. In this way, IMBC Spinnova regularly expands its network of business contacts and skills, while strengthening its deal flow and financial leverage for the benefit of its portfolio companies. Thus, since its creation, IMBC Spinnova has become a partner of Innovation FUND (venture capital in unlisted companies active in the chemical sector), Digital Attraxion (digital projects, so-called “new economy”), the VIVES III “early stage and multi-sector” inter-university investment fund, the AMERIGO stimulus fund (alongside regional investors, SFPI, and Wallonie Entreprendre), and the Newtree Impact fund (with several private investors, three family offices, and NOSHAQ). Listed on Euronext Access, this industrial holding company is dedicated to impact investing and supporting disruptive companies in the food sector.
To date, IMBC Spinnova has granted:
- 177 equity and quasi-equity investments;
- in excess of 60 million euros;
- to 101 high-tech companies, spin-offs and spin-outs, as well as 5 specialized investment funds.
